About Me

Hey - I'm Rebecca, the East London Dog Training founder, and I *barking* love dogs.

I grew up with two beautiful rescues so my love for dogs started young, but I found my love of fear-free training in 2020 when I met Alba the ex-breeding dog. Supporting her emotional and mental development, helping her come into her own personality, and slowly desensitising her to what felt like everything was a rollercoaster of learning that helped me understand the ways dog behaviour can be misunderstood and how this shows up as part of the training process.

I've previously worked in the wine industry, the charity sector and for a tech start-up, but I'm a dog trainer today because nothing compares to the experience of supporting human relationships with their canine companions through ethical training. Separation anxiety continues to be one of the main reasons dogs are surrendered to rescue shelters - I specialise in working with people to help their dogs overcome separation anxiety, particularly preventative work with puppies, in the hope of keeping dogs and their human families together. When I'm not working with people and dogs, you'll find me running the trails or hiking with my fuzzy rescue podenco.

I am a fully accredited member of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers and I adhere to the IMDT Code of Ethics. I'm also a Certified Separation Anxiety Pro Behaviour Consultant (CSAP-BC). Animal welfare is at the heart of everything I do, and I meet all dogs with kindness, empathy, and joy - whatever their story.
